Welcome to the OCIP Webpage!!!

People seek out mental health assistance because of "warning signs".  These "warning signs" can come in the form of negative feelings, problematic behaviors and distressing body responses.  We feel sad, depressed, anxious or angry.  We act aggressive, withdrawn or apathetic.  We experience pain, rapid heart rate and nausea.  For certain people, the reason for these feelings, behaviors and body responses lies within their thoughts.  Understanding and modifying these thoughts is the key to decreasing the "warning signs".  OCIP works because it assists clients in understanding and modifying negative thoughts. OCIP works because clients learn that there is a real connection between situations, thoughts and reactions. Once this is learned and the individual can look realistically at a problem, their reaction to that problem is no longer as great as it once was.  OCIP teaches individuals to “rethink how one thinks” fostering realistic appraisal of situations and events thus leading to a potential decrease in "warning signs".
