Bereavement Support Training

Pastoral Care provides Bereavement Sensitivity Training upon request. Call 953-5550 to schedule training for your clinic or ward. Approach and topics may be tailored to your unit's needs. Pastoral Care facilitates a one day Perinatal Bereavement Sensitivity Training, offered about every two months. This training takes people through the process of what typically happens in NMCP and provides an overview of parent's needs and responses. Your Training Officer may sign you up through Command Education and Training (953-5459).

Bereavement Support Training dates for 2006 are 23 Jan, 27 Mar, 22 May, 24 Jul, 25 Sep .

For those who desire education concerning perinatal grief on a national level, the Navy has most often used the RTS (Formerly known as Resolve through Sharing) method. More information on how to attend national training and become a nationally registered coordinator able to train others can be obtained from the following link: http://www.bereavementprograms.com.
